Collaboration with Nagaré Willemsen.
'Rosanne & Nagaré' is an artists collective that researches to which extent identity and bodily freedom are related to power relations and systems. Nagaré Willemsen (1992, Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Rosanne Jonkhout (1991, the Netherlands) met at ArtEZ Institute for the Arts Arnhem where they both studied Fine Art. Despite going their own way for their Master's degree (Nagaré studied at Dirty Art Department of Sandberg Instituut and Rosanne Artistic Research at the University of Amsterdam) they decided to form a collective. By combining design, art and vulnerability, they create new realities in their installations that reconsider our daily lives. Their work has common ground with post colonialism, symbolism, identity, whiteness and humanity.
